Edge Athletics will continue its “Shooting Gallery” on Sunday, March 1 at the Poughkeepsie Day School Main Gymnasium.  The Gallery includes Open Shooting, Team Shooting, Personal Shooting, and Personal Instruction sessions. Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshmen, Modified, CYO, Town and Rec teams are welcome for Team Shooting sessions. You must pre register by sending an email to [1] edgeclinics@edgeathletics.com and provide the athletes name, age, telephone number and the specific session you wish to register.  For Team Shooting sessions, please provide the team name, level, and each athletes name.

Open Shooting session note:  To improve the efficiency of the sessions, shooters will be grouped by skill level.  Coach Santoro will assign each athlete their level based on prior participation.

Schedule for Sunday, February 22:
Open Shooting session I - 11:00a.m. - noon. (level 1 and 2)
Open Shooting session II - 1:00p.m. - 2:00p.m. (level 2 and 3)
Team, Individual shooting and private instruction - 8a.m. - 9a.m., 9:30a.m. - 10:30a.m., 2:15p.m. - 3:15p.m., 3:30p.m. - 4:30p.m., 4:45p.m. - 5:45p.m. Other days and times are available upon request and as schedule permits.

About the Shooting Gallery - The Shooting Gallery located at the Poughkeepsie Day School Gymnasium offers a variety of options for basketball players to improve their shooting form and consistency. Learn the correct shooting form, footwork and more, or just come in and get a great shooters workout. With the aid of two shooting machines called the “Gun,” the Shooting Gallery can meet your individual and team needs. See session options below.

About the “Gun” - The “Gun” is the best basketball shooting machine to date for dramatically improving a players shot. This basketball shooting machine acts as an automatic rebounder, instantly rebounding a made or missed shot and giving a direct return pass for another shot. The Gun has a timing device so you can determine the distance and the speed of your return passes, thus creating situations where players can develop their shooting skills off the move and with game like intensity. The Gun can fire up to 1800 shots per hour and has a computerized scoreboard that counts and displays makes, total shots and shooting percentage

Not only can the Gun be used in the off season and before or after practice, it can even be used during practice with up to 12 players getting an intense workout in a short time. The collection net can be adjusted from 11 feet to 14 feet to force shooters to shoot with the right amount of arch depending on where they are shooting from.

Open Shooting - Limited to 12 athletes per session - 2 Guns used. Coach Santoro will set up the Guns, instruct the athletes on how to use it, set up and manage various shooting drills using the Gun and other available baskets. This environment provides shooters with a workout under game speed conditions. It does not include personal shooting instruction.  Fee is $10 per athlete. There is no fee for Open Shooting for any athlete that is enrolled in Personal Shooting or Personal Instruction on the same day (if space is available).

Up to 12 athletes per session -

Team Shooting - 2 Guns used - Bring your team for a workout focused on shooting. With the aid of theteams coaching staff, coach Santoro will set up the Gun, instruct the athletes and team coaches on how to use it, set up and manage various shooting drills using the Gun and all available baskets. This environment provides for a total team shooting workout and can be tailored to meet the needs of each team.  Two pricing options are available.

1 team with up to 12 players
1 team with up to 12 players AT YOUR GYM

Personal Shooting - Exclusive use of the gun.  Coach Santoro will set up the machine, instruct the athlete how to use it, and supervise the session.  It does not include shooting instruction. Personal Shooting can be for individual or small groups (up to 4 in a group).  Price is dependent upon number in group.

Personal Instruction - Coach Santoro will provide personal shooting instruction to the athlete that includes evaluating the athletes shooting form, providing instruction and modifications to the athlete’s shooting form, personalized drill work that will enable the athlete to correct and improve his/her shooting form.  The session will utilize the Gun in an instructional atmosphere that will enable the athlete to shoot correctly and repetitively. Personal Instruction can be for individual or small group sessions (up to 4 in a group).  Price is dependent upon number in group.
