Ubiles, Saints To Dance Again!

Posted on March 10, 2010

For the third straight year, Siena College (Albany, N.Y.) has earned the right to dance.  Siena under the leadership of Edwin Ubiles, a former Edge and Poughkeepsie High School athlete, led the charge to defeat Fairfield College 72-65 in an overtime game this past Monday night.  Ubiles scored 27 points followed by Alex Franklin with 22 points and 12 rebounds.  The Saints were down by as many as 15 points before they rallied and staged an impressive comeback. “It’s great to see a local area athlete do well,” said Jim Santoro.  “Edwin has worked very hard to position himself and his team for success,” he added.  Ubiles was coached by two local coaches (Matt Hayes, Brian Laffin) before transferring to St. Thomas More in Connecticut.  Edwin was highlighted on Sport Centers top 10 plays of the week featuring a monstrous 360 degree dunk.

Siena advanced last year before losing to the #1 seeded Louisville Cardinals.  In his senior year, Ubiles hopes to go even further this year.

Congratulations to Edwin and the rest of the Siena Saints!
