As part of our program, each athlete is required to perform eight hours of community service.  Activities are usaully planned for teams to achieve their required hours as a team and program.  Individual community service hours can be applied to this requirement.  Some activities in the past include setting up for the cancer walk, working in the soup kitchen, spring cleanup for the elderly who are not capable of caring for their own homes, and building a playground for a nursery school children.  All of these activities are planned and led by volunteer parents.  Each year brings a new challenge, and each brings new ideas for community service activities.  The community service requirement stems from our belief that our youth need to understand and appreciate the opportunity they have being part of Edge Athletics, and as a show of that apprecitation, give back to the community in which they live.
