Saints Fall to Louisville

Edwin Ubiles and the #9 seed Sienna Saints fell to the overall #1 seed Louisville Cardinals tonight in Dayton, Ohio in the second round of the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.  The loss ended the Saints season, with an overall record of 27-8.  This was the second trip in a row to the NCAA Tournament for the Saints.  They played an exceptional game against Louisville and had them on the ropes.  The Saints led 63-59 with 7:20 left in the second half.  However, Louisville regrouped and beat Sienna 79-72.  Edwin Ubiles, from Poughkeepsie, NY and an Edge Athletics Alumni, was named the Chevrolet Player of the Game for Sienna after he scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.  Edwin finished the season averaging 14.8 points-per-game and 4.8 rebounds-per-game.  Sienna had a great year and only graduate three seniors, Josh Duell, Erik Harris, and Kenny Hasbrouck.

Everyone at Edge Athletics congratulates Edwin and the entire Sienna team!
