Tale of Two Different Days

Well going into the weekend the only thing on our minds was to erase the 0-3 showing in Providence last weekend. We needed to have a complete game on the defensive end of the floor if we want to take that next step. Nothing like starting out 0-2 to start the weekend too. We lost a tough game in OT in our first game after fighting back the whole game. Getting down by as many as 15 we decided to play Edge basketball and railed a comeback which would be too little too late. Then later that night we failed to even compete against a physical Cougar team that took it to us from the start.

Well lets see your team has now just lost 5 games in a row we only competed in one of them and now we head into the consolation bracket, oh yea and we went down 10-2 to start the game first game on Sunday. Again we were able to have another comeback and take the lead going into halftime. Then it became a back and forth game up until the final buzzer in which Adirondack was able to tie the game forcing OT. Well I guess with a little experience from Saturday we were able to pull off a win in OT 63-57. Now we headed into a final game being a little tired and playing a smaller team that loved to run and gun. We played a Magic team that was lighting it up from the field and using their scrappy play to lead to some easy baskets. We got hot as a team in the second half and limited our turnovers. We play slightly better defense in the second half and won a shootout 77-75.

It’s pretty simple for us, we need to play team defense. Both in the half court and in transition. We need to get more assists on offense and have our defense lead to easy offense going the other way. Once we figure out what were doing on defense we will be able to get more wins. Back to the drawing board on Tuesday.
