UPDATE – February 27, 1:00pm: – Due to this evenings sectional playoff game being postponed, open gym this evening will take place at 6:00pm. Only the older group will go tonight.

UPDATE – January 28, 2:00pm: – Due to a schedule conflict, open gym for this Monday is rescheduled for THIS Sunday from 630 to 7:45 for both groups. Please respond to the text message that you received if you plan to come so that we know that we have enough athletes to run.

UPDATE – January 14, 2:00pm: – Open gyms will be held this Monday (Jan 16) for all athletes participating in the Winter Youth League. The open gyms will be split into two groups. Group B will run from 5:30 – 6:30pm. Group A will run from 6:30 – 7:45pm. Group A is defined as those athletes that are older and can compete with the older athletes. Group B is defined as generally the younger and less experienced players. Please use your judgement as which group your son attends so that we can create a good experience for all those attending. The format is very casual and simple. All athletes that come will be divided into 5 on 5 teams and will play pickup games for the entire time (provided there are enough athletes). If there are not enough athletes for 5 vs 5, then we will reduce to 4 on 4, etc. Coach Santoro and coach Jordan will organize the athletes and monitor the entire session. All athletes are welcome to come.

UPDATE – November 4, 4:00pm: There will be an evaluation session for all those athletes participating in this years Youth Winter League on Monday, November 14 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the Poughkeepsie Day School gym. All athletes are required to attend so that we can create fair and balanced teams. If for you cannot attend, you must let Jenna know. You can text Jenna at 914-456-9163.

UPDATE – October 19, 9:00am: We now have enough registered athletes for our Youth Winter League. We plan on having an evaluation session in order for us to create balanced teams. Before that happens, it is important that all tuition payments are made. This will ensure that we have a committed amount of athletes. Although we are still accepting registrations, tuition payments must be made to secure your spot. We will only keep a maximum of ten players on each team.

You can pay by either cash or check. If you are paying by check, please make out to Edge Athletics Club and mail to Edge Athletics, 4 Ledge Way, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. You can also make arrangements to hand deliver to us at Poughkeepsie Day School.

UPDATE – October 9, 11:00am: Because our website was hacked many were not able to access information or registration directions. Our site is still not fully recovered but we have been able to make some modifications to allow viewers to see current content. We, therefore, have kept registration for Youth Winter League open.

There will be an information meeting for all parents on Monday, October 17 at 7:30pm at the Poughkeepsie Day School. We will discuss the format at that meeting and answer any questions you might have. We are looking forward to another great winter!

UPDATE – September 17, 10:00am: Registration will close for the winter league on Friday, September 23. We will determine the league format when registration is closed and we have final numbers. If you are planning on participating in the league, please ensure you register prior to Friday.

Youth Winter League 2022

The Edge Athletics Youth Winter League is back! After an extremely successful and fun season in 2021-2022, many of you have asked if there would be a winter league for this upcoming winter. Because the interest level appears to be high, Edge Athletics is pleased to announce that the 2022 – 2023 Youth Winter League is open for registration!

Program Details:

  • 4 months of practices and games. Practices will be held once a week for an hour. Games will be played on Saturdays.
  • All practices and games to be conducted and coached by volunteer coaches.
  • All games will be officiated by the coaches that are NOT playing and other volunteer officials.
  • We anticipate having four teams in each of two divisions. Each team will play a nine game schedule plus a single elimination playoff tournament.
  • Additional skills sessions MAY be provided by coach Tom Jordan, Jim Santoro and other guest coaches.
  • Registration fee – $300. There is a $25 ($275) discount for those athletes that were part of our spring 2022 AAU program, attended a summer camp in 2022, or enroll in one of our fall Peak Performance sessions.

Q. Where will the program take place?
A. All practices and games will be held at the Poughkeepsie Day School.

Q.  When will the program begin and end?
A.  Registration is now open. We plan on beginning the week of November 15 and concluding the second week of February.

Q.  What days and times will practices and workouts be?
A.  Practices will be held Monday through Thursday beginning at 5pm. Exact days and times will be determined after registration is complete.

Q. Will there be tryouts?
A.  No. This program is open to all athletes within the designated ages.

Q. How will teams be formed?
A. After registration is complete, all athletes will be required to participate in a practice scrimmage so that the staff can evaluate the skill set. Coaches will then draft the teams with the objective of creating the most balanced teams possible.

Q.  Can I request to be put on a specific team?
A.  No. The teams will be formed with the sole intent of creating the most balanced and competitive league.

Q.  Will the teams be required to purchase uniforms?
A.  No. T-shirts will be provided to designate the different teams.

Q.  What is the registration fee?
A.  The registration fee is $300 for each athlete. There is a $25 discount for all athletes that were in our spring 2022 AAU program, attended one of our summer camps in 2022, or enroll in one of our fall Peak Performance sessions.

Q.  Are there any additional fees?
A.  Maybe. This is an AAU based program. Each athlete is required to have an active AAU membership for insurance purposes. If you have an active AAU membership, you do not need to purchase a new one. Q. Will you be running a program for the girls?
A. Not at this time. Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to offer a girls program.
